China Beijing Citizens Donate to Help Environment

Some 2,800 students and faculty from the No. 24 Middle School donated 5,100 kg of waste paper to the China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) in Beijing on November 8.

The donation was in response to the call "to protect the rivers and trees by donating waste paper" launched by the CYDF this March.

According to the CYDF, this action will help save the environment by recycling materials, with a donation of 10 kg of waste paper equivalent to planting one tree.

So far, people from 46 schools, enterprises and residential areas in Beijing have donated more than 100 tons of waste paper.

Officials with the CYDF hope that more and more people will participate in this action for environmental protection for the sake of tomorrow's world.
