China China, Uzbekistan Sign Cooperation Documents

Chinese President Jiang Zemin and Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov signed a joint statement on furthering bilateral friendly cooperation after holding talks at the Great Hall of the People on November 8.

They also signed an extradition agreement between the two countries.

The two documents are among a number of cooperation documents the two countries signed here today.

Others include agreements on protection of intellectual property rights and telecommunications, a framework document on China's offering of preferential loans to Uzbekistan, an agreement between China's Public Security Ministry and the Uzbek Ministry of Interior, an educational cooperation agreement, and an agreement on tourism.
