Education Chinese Language Proficiency Test Held in Macao

A Chinese language proficiency test, the second of its kind in Macao, was held on Saturday at a school under the Macao Polytechnic Institute.

A total of 43 people took part in the test which is aimed at examining the proficiency of the Chinese language among those who use Chinese as a foreign language or a second language.

Holding the nationalities of Canada, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Portugal and Sierra Leone, the examinees are living in Macao, and most of them serve as civil servants in government departments.

The test was presided over by a group of professionals coming from China's Ministry of Education and the Beijing Language and Culture University.

The first Chinese language proficiency test was conducted in Macao on November 7 last year with 56 examinees attending. (Xinhua)
