Culture Tourism Flourishes In China's Coastal City

This summer alone saw as many as 2.25 million tourists visit the coastal city of Lianyungang in Jiangsu Province, a 68.8 percent rise on a yearly basis.

Local tourism income from domestic visitors is reported to have increased 46.9 percent on a yearly basis to 1.66 billion yuan during the tourism season.

In the last three years, more than one billion yuan has been spent on the tourism industry in the area, developing a number of scenic spots such as seaside resorts and hotspring holiday destination. (Xinhua)
