Sci-Tech Non-Governmental Science & Technology Park In E. China

A non-governmental science and technology park is taking shape in Qingdao, the coastal city of east China 's Shandong Province.

The park is located in the Qingdao Hi-Tech Industrial Park and when completed it will cover two square kilometers.

The park is now home to more than 230 non-governmental enterprises, which did more than one billion yuan worth of businesses last year, including 100 million yuan in pre-tax profits.

There are now seven local non-governmental enterprises each with annual pre-tax profits exceeding 10 million yuan, employing more than 4,000 people.

Preparations for the second-phase development of the park is near completion and the expanded park is expecting an influx of more local hi-tech projects.
