Business On-Line Ticketing System in Shanghai

An on-line ticketing system at China Eastern Airlines has begun operation in Shanghai.

The system was developed by the airline in cooperation with IBM (China) and other companies. It guarantees security when people use credit cards to purchase tickets on-line.

People with credit cards from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China can use the system to book a flight from Shanghai. Early next year, VISA and other credit cards can be used to buy China Eastern tickets for domestic and international flights.

China's commercial aviation does 50 billion yuan (6.05 billion US dollars) worth of business annually and has a great deal of potential for a secure e-business system. (Xinhua)
