France's Nelly Viennot is to be the first woman to officiate at a Champions League game on October 3.

Viennot, 37, was accredited by the UEFA to runs the line in the Group E game between Molde and Real Madrid.

The French first division assistant referee was also officiate in men's Olympic tournament in Atlanta in 1996.
