China China Shocked by Killings in Armenia

China is shocked by the October 27's shoot-out in the Armenian parliament building, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said in Beijing October 28 during a regular press conference.

She said that China always opposes all forms of terrorism and believes that Armenia is able to maintain stability.

Zhang added that Chinese President Jiang Zemin has sent a telegram to Armenian President Robert Kocharyan to extend his condolences.

Armenian Prime Minister Vazgen Sarkisyan and Parliament Speaker Karen Demirchyan were killed by the gunmen during the shoot-out. (Xinhua)
