World Pak PM Phones Indian Counterpart

¡¡ Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif phoned his Indian counterpart, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on the evening of October 7, congratulating him on his victory in the Indian elections.

¡¡ According to informed sources, Sharif called for the revival of the bilateral dialogue process initiated at the Lahore summit in February this year.

¡¡ The two countries should seek to resolve their disputes through talks, he said.

¡¡ Vajpayee is believed to resume the office of prime minister after the alliance led by his party, the BJP, has secured a majority in the lower house of parliament.
