UK Ambassador to China: Beckham could improve China national football team

Beijing, Nov.8 (People's Daily Online) -- The cooperation between Chinese and British football coaches may improve China national football team's performance, says Sebastian Wood, British ambassador to China, in an interview with People's Daily Online today.

He says he wishes that David Beckham, who has been to China for a few times, could promote the cooperation between football coaches between the two countries.

As a fan of Manchester United, he had met David Beckham before, he added.

English Premier League is a high level league internationally, and there are so many football fans in China. Under such conditions, the cooperation between Chinese and British football coaches may improve the performance of China national football team, he said.

In the interview, Wood also answered questions ranging from bilateral trade cooperation, personnel exchange to literature.
