The U.S. amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard pulled in Hong Kong waters on Wednesday to get replenishment.
Captain Cathal S. O'connor told a press briefing that although this is the third time the ship pulls in Hong Kong, he and the sailors are eager to see the changing of the city.
Commissioned in 1998, the 40,500-ton vessel, 257 meters long and 32 meters wide, has a crew of more than 3,000 aboard.
The primary mission of USS Bonhomme Richard is to embark, deploy and land elements of a Marine landing force in amphibious assault operations by helicopters, landing craft and amphibious vehicles.
