Xi's envoy to attend Malian president's swearing-in

BEIJING, Sept. 11 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy will attend the official nomination ceremony of the newly elected Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita on Sept. 19, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hong Lei said here Wednesday.

Hong told a regular press conference that Wang Zhengwei, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and head of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, will visit Mali to attend Keita's official nomination ceremony as the special envoy of President Xi.
