HONG KONG, Aug. 28 -- The Hong Kong government announced on Wednesday it would grant 1.16 million HK dollars (about 150,000 U.S. dollars) from the Disaster Relief Fund to help flood victims in Uttarakhand, India.
The funding for Save the Children Hong Kong for its relief efforts in India came after the government accepted the advice of the Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee.
To ensure that the money is used for the designated purposes, the relief agency should submit an evaluation report and audited account on the use of the fund after the relief project has been completed.
