BEIJING, Aug. 20 -- China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta in Beijing on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Yu hailed frequent high-level interactions, and mutual support on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns. He also praised the cooperation in trade, culture, education, tourism and mass media between the two countries over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said China is ready to advance the comprehensive cooperative partnership on the principle of friendship, equality and reciprocity.
On Monday, China and Kenya announced to establish a comprehensive cooperative partnership during the talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and the visiting Kenyan president.
The CPPCC National Committee will further increase communication with the National Assembly of Kenya to enhance mutual understanding and expand consensus with a view to instilling new vitality into the development of bilateral relationship, Yu said.
Echoing Yu, Kenyatta said Kenya and China are cooperating closely in many areas.
The Kenyan side hopes to learn from China's development experiences and deepen cooperation between the two countries in a sustained way, Kenyatta said.
