Hong Kong chief executive meets Australian FM

HONG KONG, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Chief Executive C Y Leung met visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia Bob Carr to exchange views on the latest developments in Hong Kong and Australia, according to the city's government news website here Monday.

Leung said the two places enjoy close economic and social ties, and he hoped their bilateral relationship will continue to grow.

Leung also explained Hong Kong's unique role as the "super-connector" between the Chinese mainland and the rest of the world.
