BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Vice President Li Yuanchao said Friday that China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) should actively advance exchanges and cooperation between the young people on both sides.
Li made the remarks while meeting a group of young ROK legislators at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The delegation of young members of the ROK National Assembly is headed by Chung Mong-Joon, head of the ROK-China Inter-Parliamentary Council.
Li said friendship between young people can create a foundation for the future growth of China-ROK relations. He said the two countries should implement the consensus reached by their heads of state during ROK President Park Geun-hye's visit to China last month.
Li said the two sides should actively boost exchanges and cooperation between young people so as to foster a fresh driving force for the future growth of bilateral ties.
Chung expressed readiness to promote exchanges and cooperation between the young people of both countries and to work for the growth of bilateral relations.
