5.0-magnitude quake hits Taiwan: CENC

BEIJING, July 16 (Xinhua) -- A 5.0-magnitude quake jolted Hualien County in Taiwan at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 8 km, was monitored at 24.2 degrees north latitude and 121.5 degrees east longitude, the center said.
