Death toll in China's slaughterhouse fire rises to 121

CHANGCHUN, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The death toll of a fire at a poultry processing plant in northeast China's Jilin Province rose to 121 on Sunday afternoon after a woman died in hospital, rescue headquarters said.

Xu Chunfeng, 43, from Mishazi township, Dehui City, died at about 2:20 p.m. in a hospital in the provincial capital city of Changchun.

As of Sunday, 26 of the 77 people who were injured in the fire have been discharged from hospitals.

The remaining 50 injured are receiving treatment.

The blaze happened at the Jilin Baoyuanfeng Poultry Company in Dehui City on Monday morning.
