BEIJING, January 13 (ChinaMil) – The General Staff Headquarters (GSH) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) promulgated the PLA Military Training Instructions for 2014 (referred hereafter as The Instructions) at the beginning of 2014 to map out the comprehensive deployment of the military training work for the PLA this year.

The Instruction points out that the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (APF) should deepen the reform of military training, redouble efforts in actual-combat-based training, promote the integration of training and actual combat, and continuously enhance the deterrent and actual combat capabilities under information-based conditions.

The Instructions lays emphasis on insisting on the direction of actual-combat-based training so that training can truly fulfill the essential requirements demanded by modern warfare.

It is emphasized to comprehensively build up solid foundation for training and strengthen the training for new equipment and new-type combat forces.

It is stressed to highlight mission-oriented subject training, strengthen strategic and battle training, actively carry out joint training, trans-MAC base training and battlefield adaptability training, reinforce nighttime training, coordinate training for military operations other than war (MOOTW), and improve Chinese-foreign joint exercise and joint training.

The emphasis is also placed on constructing the environment for actual-combat-based training, systematically building training bases and training ranges for various levels, and strengthening the construction of professionalized simulation "Blue Army".

Stress is also laid to elevate the quality of academic education and talent cultivation, highlight the talent training for new-type combat forces, and construct new-type military talent cultivation system.

It also emphasizes the need to deepen the reform of military training, establish mechanisms for joint training and training evaluation, and promote the PLA training resource sharing.
