Servicemen patrol in snowfield

The officers and men of the Changbai Mountains Sentry Post of the No.1 Company of a frontier defense regiment under the Jilin Provincial Military Command (PMC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conduct a 3-kilometer-long foot patrol in a temperature of 30 degrees below zero at 05:40 on January 18, 2013.

The officers and men of the sentry post are stationed on the hinterland of the Changbai Mountains all the year round. The Changbai Mountains have an annual snowfall of 320 mm, with the average snow depth up to 1.5 to 2 meters, and have 269 days of force 8 wind or above throughout the year. All of the data come out at the top in China.
