BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) - The head of a Hollywood production company on Sunday denied online rumors that upcoming action film "Transformers 4" will include the destruction of Beijing landmarks.
"Pangu Plaza is an extraordinary and iconic building that will make a memorable visual in the movie, especially set against the beautiful National Stadium, National Aquatic Center and Olympic Green," said Marc Ganis, president of Jiaflix Enterprises in a written statement.
"How this unique building is presented will be entirely up to the film's director Michael Bay and his team," Ganis added.
According to Ganis, production on "Transformers 4" has already begun in the United States. The film will include scenes shot in a number of locations in China and is scheduled for release next summer.
"'Transformers 4' has a great deal to do with China. The film will not only be set in China, but will also feature a China-centric theme," Ganis said.
In June, representatives from Paramount Pictures, Jiaflix Enterprises and Beijing Pangu Investment announced a cooperative agreement concerning the movie at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
"Fans will fall in love again with the incredible story and the absolutely extraordinary way Michael presents his vision on the screen," Ganis said.
