Nov. 1 is considered as the "Minor Singles' Day" in China, while the "Super Singles' Day" falls on Nov. 11 every year, because of the connection between singles and the number "1." There is now a substantial population of young bachelors and single women in the country, which is why this holiday has become very popular among the so-called "leftover" young people.
Baihe.com, one of the largest online dating websites in China, has released its latest report on the distribution of single people, ranking the top 10 provinces with most singles.
South China's Guangdong Province stands first on the list, with its single people accounting for 11 percent of all the singles in the country. Beijing ranks second thanks to its ladies' strong-minded personalities. Jiangsu comes in third as a result of the men's indulgence in online games.
According to the report, which is based on a massive online survey, the ranking is closely related to such factors including lifestyle, work pressure, sex ratio and values.
