Being 'crazy' at self-shot studios in Beijing

Imagine a photo shoot studio without a photographer telling you what to do, which saves yourself from the awkward moments of being stiff. All you need is a remote to the camera so you can take your own picture all by yourself.

Lately, young people in Beijing start to have fun with this kind of self-shoot studios. They can be all "crazy" as they want in the totally in-control studios. You can pose the way you want or to jump anytime you feel the impulse.

Jin Yulong came back to China from Spain and found out his college mate is running an interesting self-shooting studio. He went there for fun.

In this normal-looked photo studio, his friend Gu has set up the background, the flash mode for him and provided him with various kinds of costumes. Next, he can start taking photos in front of the camera with remote in his hand. He can be as "silly" as he want, for this is a total private room and there will be no interruption at all.

The decoration in the studio is quite simple, with six background sets, several special lights for portraits and computers equipped with self-shot system.

Everyone can be a model

Some young people make this studio as a place to hang out. Not long ago, four roommates came here to shoot their graduation photos before saying goodbye to each other. Some other people may have their birthdays celebrated here with flowers and gifts.

"Most of the clients are young people," the owner says. Normally there will be four of five people hanging out here, not only for photo shot, but also having fun and having talks with friends.
