Actor Andy Lau has announced the nominations for the 7th annual Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong.

Leading the nominations this year with six nods each are Chinese mainland film "Mystery" and South Korea's "Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time."

Director Ye Lou's "Mystery," a scandalous murder tale, is in the running for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actess and Best Newcomer, among others.

China's "The Last Supper," India's "Gangs of Wasseypur," Japan's "Outrage Beyond" and Kurdistan/Turkey co-production "Rhino Season" all did well with four nods each.

The Asian Film Awards also honours the Top Grossing Asian Film of the Year, with China's hit budget comedy "Lost in Thailand" being in for a shot.

South Korea was the country with the most nominations for this year's AFA's, to be held in Hong Kong in early March.
