CHANGCHUN, China, Dec. 11 -- American forward Leon Rodgers joined the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) side Jilin Northeast Tigers on Wednesday, replacing Tony Mitchell who was out after a string of poor performances.
Leon, born in 1980 and who stands at 2 meters tall, had played for Jilin from 2008 to 2010. He had scored more than 60 in two consecutive games and made 15 3-pointers in a game.
In the 2008-2009 CBA season, Leon averaged 34.72 points, 8.5 rebounds,but in the next season, he averaged only 28.45 points plus 8.45 rebounds.
Leon had played for Marinos in the Venezuela League from 2012 to 2013 when the team finished second and first respectively. He joined the Colombia League last month, averaging 19.3 points in 15 games for Guerreros.
Leon will appear in Jilin's away game against Fujian on Wednesday night.
