Randolph Morris had 32 points and 12 rebounds to lift the Beijing Ducks to a 104-94 road victory over Shanxi Fenjiu on Wednesday, in the second round of the CBA League.
With the victory, the Ducks ended their four consecutive road losses to Shanxi.
Sun Yue contributed nine points, seven rebounds, six steals, two assists and two blocks, while Zhai Xiaochuan and Zhu Yanxi scored 17 and 18 points separately.
Marcus Williams had 35 points, five steals and five assists but his good performance did not save Shanxi.
Beijing Ducks took a 17-point lead at the end of the first half, but Shanxi tried to narrow the gap at 84-89 with four and a half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
Stephon Marbury hit a key 3-pointer to put the Ducks 92-84 ahead.
Although Marbury scored only 10 points in the game, Beijing's head coach Min Lulei said at the post-game press conference that people should not judge Marbury's performance only by scores.
"Stephon always knows the tempo of every game and he knows how to maximize his function," said Min. "We should trust him when he doesn't score that much."
In Guangdong's Derby, Yi Jianlian had 19 points and 15 rebounds, and Zhu Fangyu scored 13 points as defending champions Guangdong Hongyuan beat Fongshan Long Lions 81-72.
