Moreno Hofland, the owner of yellow jersey from Belkin-Pro Cycling, became the first rider to cross the finish line after four hours 18 minutes and 53 seconds at stage 8 in Tour of Hainan on Sunday.
Vitaliy Buts from Ukraine Cycling team settled for the second place of the stage, and Hofland's teammate Lars Boom came in third.
Hofland, the rider on top in the general standings, also keeps the green jersey for leading the sprints classification.
Mateusz Taciak from CCC Polsat Polkowice obtained the polka dot jersey.
A total of 111 riders from 20 cycling teams participated in the 8th stage starting from Dongfang to Chengmai for the distance of 172.4km.
The final stage will be from Danzhou to Chengmai on Monday for a distance of 148km.
