BEIJING, Oct. 6 (People's Daily Online) -- World No. 11 Jelena Jankovic rallied from a set down to notch up her first final since 2011 with a 6-7 (7/9), 6-1, 6-1 victory over the former Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova in the China Open semifinals here on Saturday.
Jankovic lost the first set on a tie-break, but the former world No. 1 dominated the following sets, losing only two games to cruise past the ninth-seed Kvitova.
The win set up the final showdown with world No. 1 Serena Williams, who trashed 2011 China Open champion Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2, 6-2 on the same day.
It is the Serb's first final since 2011 in Cincinnati, where she was defeated by Russian star Maria Sharapova.
Jankovic, who reached the top of women's world rankings in 2008, has previously met Williams in two finals, including the 2008 US Open, which Williams won in straight sets.
