ANKARA, Sept. 9 -- One female Japanese tourist was stabbed to death and another seriously wounded with knives by an unknown person in a touristic region in central Turkey on Monday, private Dogan news agency reported.
Mai Kurkiharac and Hoshie Teramatsu were attacked in the Zemi Valley in Goreme town of Nevsehir province, the report said.
After discovering the body of Kurkiharac and the injured Teramatsu, some tourists immediately called local gendarmerie and medical teams.
The wounded has been taken to the Nevsehir state hospital for medical treatment, the report said, adding that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
