TEHRAN, Sept. 4 -- Syria's army and nation are fully prepared to defend themselves against any possible threats, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars news agency on Wednesday.
The Syrian nation and government are prepared to confront any attack and "The Syrian army and nation have necessary tools and means to defend themselves," Fars quoted Dehqan as saying.
Meanwhile, the Iranian defense minister also emphasized that any U.S. military presence in Syria would lead to future instability in region, according to Press TV.
"The U.S. attack on Syria has grave consequences for the region " and for the West, he said, adding that the attack can also spread the crisis throughout the region and intensify it.
