2 killed, 10 injured in blast in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, July 22 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and 10 others injured on Monday afternoon when a blast hit Pakistan's southwestern border city of Chaman, local media reported.

According to the reports, the explosion took place outside the office of the country's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) near the Friendship Gate, a crossing at Pak-Afghan border.

The blast damaged the FIA office building and killed two persons on spot besides injuring 10 others including a custom officer.

Security forces, police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to the Chaman hospital.

Nature of the blast was not known yet as the officials were collecting the evidences from the site.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Earlier in the morning, a remote-controlled bomb blast went off near a police office building but no causality was reported in the attack.
