7.6-magnitude quake strikes south of Tonga: CENC

BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhua) -- A 7.6-magnitude quake struck in the sea south of Tonga at 1:19 a.m. Friday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 150 km, was monitored at 23.0 degrees south latitude and 177.1 degrees west longitude, the center said.
