JAKARTA, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Rescuers have found 14 bodies and kept searching for 13 others after a boat capsized in Mahakam river in Samarinda of East Kalimantan on Wednesday, rescuers said Friday.

Mujiono, head of operation of the searching at East Kalimantan Search and Rescue Office, said that operation to find other victims of the boat continued, involving soldiers, police and those from the rescue office.

"We have lifted 14 bodies from the river, and based on the report from family members there are 13 more other people still go missing," he told Xinhua by phone from the scene.

Nevertheless, the number of missing people could be more than 13, as the report from the National Disaster Management Agency said that the number of people on board was 63, while 30 of them have been rescued.

The boat sank Wednesday morning at 05:30 a.m. local time, according to Mujiono.

Ship accidents occurred frequently in the vast archipelago country due to a lack of safety standard.
