NEW DELHI, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The bodies of five Indian Army personnel, killed by rebels while on a United Nations' peacekeeping mission in South Sudan on Tuesday, arrived in the national capital Thursday, sources said.

Four other Indian peacekeepers injured in the ambush in Jonglei were also flown back home, they said.

The peacekeepers from India were working for the UN Mission in South Sudan, which has been in South Sudan since the country's creation in 2011 to maintain peace and security.

India forms a major part of UN peacekeeping forces worldwide and has suffered losses in the past. In 2010, three Indian peacekeepers were killed in Congo.
