Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres Thursday urged Palestinian National Authority ChairmanYasser Arafat to take immediate actions to prevent potential "terrorist" attacks on Israel.

During a meeting with U.S. special Middle East envoy Anthony Zinni Thursday in Tel Aviv, Peres said that there are many serious warnings of potential "terrorist" attacks on Israel.
"There is no time and Arafat must act immediately," Israel Radioquoted Peres as telling the U.S. envoy.
Zinni is meeting Arafat in the West Bank town of Ramallah at this hour. The U.S. have demanded Arafat to arrest 30 radical militants responsible for suicide bombing attacks in Israel based on a list provided by Israel.
Officials from many countries have called on Zinni to host a three-way summit to bring about a ceasefire.
To help calm down the tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher arrived in Israel Thursday on a surprise mission.
Maher is meeting Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in Jerusalem now, and will later meet Peres and Israeli President Moshe Katsav.
The Egyptian foreign minister will also meet Arafat later in theday in an effort to help put an end to the 14-month Palestinian-Israeli bloodshed and a growing crisis in the region.
