BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Deng Xiaolan, the founder of the Malan village band, passed away on Tuesday in Beijing less than seven weeks after the Malan choir performed at the Beijing 2022 opening ceremony. Deng passed away in Beijing Tiantan Hospital at the age of 78, according to Hebei Economic Daily.
Liu Boqiang, who previously worked as a steel rolling worker for over 20 years for Chinese steelmaker Shougang Group, embraced a career transition with the arrival of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Liu Boqiang makes ice in a curling rink in the Shougang Park in Beijing.

SYDNEY, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Australian athlete Patrick Jensen's optimistic nature has taken him a long way - most recently to the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics where he competed in a range of Para-Alpine ski events for the visually impaired. Now back at home in the New South Wales' (NSW) seaside town of Newcastle, Jensen happily recounts with experiences in China's snowy mountainsides earlier this month at his second Paralympics.
