Yunnan people are used to call fermented bean curd as gravy bean curd. Gravy bean curd is a kind of pickle which comes from salted tofu.
Lunan fermented bean curd has the color of reddish yellow, it is spicy, delicious and soft, and it is one of the most famous pickles in Yunnan Province. Lunan fermented bean curd is produced in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province. The Shilin County was called Lunan County in the past, so the fermented bean curd produced there is called Lunan fermented Bean Curd.
Shilin County is the home to the famous karst landform, it has picturesque scenery. Legend has it that the history of fermented bean curd production has lasted for hundreds of years. Water from Ba Jiang is used to make tofu, so it has a good quality.
