Red Revolution has left an impressively distinct mark in the eventful history of modern Shaanxi. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) stayed in northern Shaanxi for thirteen years during which the Agrarian Revolution (1927-1937), the War of Resistance against Japan (1937-1945) and the War of Liberation (1945-1949) broke out. As the longest series of revolution in Chinese history, its legacies are most profound. A lot of invaluable cultural relics, historic sites and spiritual assets (such as Yan’an Spirits) are left to the later generations.
It was an era when countless heroes stood up against adversities to save the afflicted Chinese from suffering. It was an era during which the most precious spiritual wealth was fostered and later contributed to the rise of a nation.
Wandering in the revolutionary sites, you can not help looking back to the amazingly turbulent times and to the place where great ideals and faiths started. Together, let us discover the revolutionary history and spirits of the Chinese people; let us learn the deeds and sublime virtues of the veteran revolutionaries who spared no efforts fighting for an independent and free China.
