Application for the National Green Economy Demonstration Region Got Approval

Last year, Pu'er obtained the official approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) for its application for the National Green Economy Demonstration Region. According to Wei Xing, Party chief of Pu'er, NDRC would send leaders and experts from related departments to Pu'er to supervise and review its construction plan of the demonstration region this week. Hopefully the plan will be passed soon.

According to Wei Xing, Pu'er needs to bring its advantages into full play by virtue of the National Green Economy Demonstration Region and reinforce the strength of the brand vice versa. The city also needs to greatly develop its three major industries - the primary industry that features the peculiar highland ecological agriculture, the secondary industry that features green industry, and the tertiary industry that features healthy recreational and vocational services, so as to facilitate the transformation of production patterns and lifestyles towards a greener end and to improve the building of a green city.
