3. Alex Ferguson, David Beckham retired
Alex Ferguson, the father of the modern Manchester United and the most successful manager in British football history, officially retired on May 19 after 26 and a half record-breaking years. The 71-year-old Ferguson has led Manchester United to 38 titles including 13 Premier Leagues, two European Champions League, five FA Cups and four League Cups.
One day earlier, David Beckham officially retired after helping French club PSG to claim their first league title since 1994. He had won the championships in four different leagues in England, Spain, the United States and France.
