Zhongshan Bridge was built in 1907, using all imported materials from Germany. The German design was created as a collaboration between German and local officers, and it was the first permanent bridge to cross the Yellow River. Today it is a popular spot with locals and visitors alike. Locals say, "If you haven't been to Zhongshan Bridge, you haven't been to Lanzhou."
