So far, People’s Daily Online has set up 29 branches in Chinese mainland; it also set up overseas subsidiary companies in Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, London, Moscow, Johannesburg, Hong Kong and Sydney. It reaches more than 200 countries and regions, reporting continuously 24/7 in 15 languages and 16 different versions.
Mr. Liao Hong, President and Editor in Chief of People’s Daily Online, Mr. Liu Kan, Deputy Consul-General of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney, John Murphy, Federal Member for Reid representing the Australia federal government, Charles Casuscelli, Member for Strathfield, representing the NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell, Mr. Liu Xiang, Executive Director of China Chamber of Commerce in Australia and General Manager of Shenhua Australia Holdings Pty Ltd, Mr. Frank Chou, Live Honorary President of Teo Chew International Convention and Senior Honorary President of Australia Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China attended this event and delivered speeches.
In total, more than 70 distinguished guests, company executives and company representatives from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney, the Australia federal, state and local government, China invested companies in Australia, Chinese media and the local Chinese community witnessed the grand opening.
