The Dai people in Xishuangbanna have their own unique sugar making mode from ancient to modern times;they use large-sized woodenwares as the machines for pressing sugar cane juice, adopt bearing theory of physics, and borrow labor power, animal power and water power as the power to drive rotation of wood pile for pressing sugar cane juice, which is drinkable after being filtered, and can be simmered down to brown sugar.
