China urges U.S. to immediately stop blockade, coercion against Cuba: spokesperson
BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- China urges the United States to immediately stop its blockade and any other form of coercion and pressure against Cuba, and stop infringing on Cuban people's right to survive and thrive, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning told a daily press briefing here on Wednesday.
It's reported that on Oct. 19 local time, U.S. state of Florida's Attorney General issued an arrest warrant for Cuban revolutionary leader Raul Castro.
Noting Comrade Raul Castro is a venerated Cuban revolutionary leader held in high international esteem, Mao said that China noted the response of Cuban president and foreign minister who condemned the move as a "pathetic circus."
Mao pointed out that China opposes abuse of judicial measures to pressure Cuba, and firmly supports Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and opposing external interference.
