China, Russia prepare for meeting between heads of gov't

BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng co-chaired the 30th session of the committee for regular meetings between the Chinese and Russian heads of government, together with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, on Monday via video link.

China is willing to work with Russia to implement the important common understandings between the two heads of state and prepare for the 31st regular meeting between Chinese and Russian heads of government, He said.

China stands ready to further consolidate cooperation with Russia in traditional areas such as trade and investment, transportation, agriculture, nuclear energy, aviation and aerospace, while actively expanding their cooperation in green and low-carbon development and digital economy, according to He.

He called on both sides to create a sound environment for cooperation, safeguard the multilateral trading system, and strive for new progress in bilateral cooperation in various areas.

Noting the increasingly closer bilateral exchanges and stronger collaboration in multilateral fora, Chernyshenko said Russia will work with China to strengthen cooperation in terms of both scale and quality.
