BISHKEK, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- The four major global initiatives proposed by China represent a new philosophical and conceptual approach to human development, and reflect the shared hopes and aspirations of peoples around the world, a Kyrgyz expert said.

In a recent interview with Xinhua, Sheradil Baktygulov, a political scientist and director of the Kyrgyz Institute of World Politics, said that the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative complement and reinforce one another.

"They reflect key aspects of the activities of various countries and international organizations, regardless of their economic capacity or size, and embody the hopes and aspirations of the world's peoples for the creation of a just and secure society and a community of shared prosperity," he said.

In Baktygulov's view, the principles underpinning the four initiatives have been applied in China, producing positive results.

"We see that it is precisely on this foundation that China has achieved the heights that have led the entire world to speak of the 'Chinese development miracle'," he said.

The expert noted that people around the world are closely examining the foundations of these initiatives, which he believes have served as catalysts for China's economic and technological advancement.

"These initiatives have introduced a new philosophical and conceptual approach to human development. In this sense, they can be regarded as an asset that China generously shares with the entire world," he emphasized.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Global Development Initiative (GDI). According to Baktygulov, this initiative has essentially become a roadmap for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on a global scale.

"This initiative has enriched humanity's understanding of development and garnered international recognition regarding the pathways and principles required to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals," he said.

The political scientist particularly highlighted the GDI's significance for global digital development.

"The 'Digital South' initiative under the GDI reflects a new digital reality that advocates for the creation of operational standards and rules to bridge the digital divide and prevent digital inequality," Baktygulov said.

That plays a vital role in aligning the trends of this new reality with the needs of countries in the Global South and is therefore welcomed by them, he added.
