China urges U.S. to build relationship characterized by peace, stability, mutual respect on cyber issues
BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- China urges the United States to build a relationship characterized by peace, stability and mutual respect on cyber issues, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Friday.
Mao made the remarks at a regular media briefing in response to a query related to the U.S. Department of Justice's remarks regarding the so-called hacking activities from China.
"China firmly opposes and combats hacking activities in accordance with law. China also firmly opposes spreading disinformation and making noises for political agenda," Mao said.
Noting that cybersecurity is a key issue of concern for both China and the United States, Mao said China urges the U.S. side to quit double standards and political manipulation, and work with China through equal-footed dialogue and consultation to jointly tackle cybersecurity risks and build a relationship characterized by peace, stability and mutual respect on cyber issues.
