2026 Greater Bay Area Film Concert celebrates shared cultural memories, togetherness

MACAO, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Greater Bay Area Film Concert 2026 was held in China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Sunday, bringing together filmmakers and musicians to celebrate shared cultural memories and a sense of togetherness.

Participants came from the Chinese mainland, China's Hong Kong SAR, China's Macao SAR and China's Taiwan.

Combining classic hits with contemporary music and featuring original works, the event also incorporated film-related performances and newly developed stage technologies.

Chief director Wang Pingjiu said the event, rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, was developing into a cultural bridge connecting Chinese communities around the world.

He said he hoped the event would further encourage cultural creativity in the Greater Bay Area, foster emotional ties across the Taiwan Strait and convey a message of love and peace to audiences worldwide.

The concert, first held in 2021, was hosted by the China Movie Channel Program Center, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Bauhinia Culture Group, and Phoenix Television.
