NEW DELHI, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- New Delhi on Wednesday summoned Islamabad's top envoy and lodged a strong protest over a collision between Pakistani and Indian naval vessels in the north Arabian Sea.

According to India's foreign ministry, the collision, which took place on Tuesday in international waters, did not cause any major damage but was described as "unacceptable and unprofessional conduct" of Pakistani naval units, in violation of the provisions of relevant agreements signed by the two sides.

The Charge d'Affaires of Pakistan was advised to convey to the concerned Pakistani authorities the need for all military units to observe due care and respect the provisions of the relevant agreements between the two sides in order to prevent any repeat of such incidents, the ministry said.
