Yichun West Railway Station is China's northernmost high-speed railway station and the largest facility along the Harbin-Yichun High-Speed Railway in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. Its undulating roof echoes the rolling peaks of the Lesser Khingan Mountains, while the 13-meter-wide cantilevered eaves evoke the gentle ripples of water.
Inside the entrance hall, snowflakes, pinecones and branches evoke the feel of a "living room in the forest." According to Shi Qinwei, project manager at Yichun West Railway Station, from China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, the station features triple-glazed windows, enhanced insulation and sealed joints to keep warmth in. The stone flooring has been mechanically grooved with fine, evenly spaced lines to prevent slipping.
Once the Harbin-Yichun High-Speed Railway opens, travel time between Harbin and Yichun will be cut from seven hours to around two.
